1.Gado-gado

Mix vegetables such as kale, bean sprouts, string beans, potatoes, cabbages, corns, also added with hard-boiled egg, tofu and tempeh served with peanut sauce dressing.
Usually eaten with rice cakes or rice.
All the vegetable cooked.

You can find street vendors sell gado-gado using cart in Jakarta.
Some famous gado-gado restaurants in Jakarta are Gado-gado Boplo, Gado-gado Bonbin, and Gado-gado Cemara.

2.Soto Betawi


Is composed of broth which added with coconut milk, meat, tomato, and some spices. Usually served with crackers, and blinjo cracker


3. Nasi Uduk
      Is steam rice cooked in coconut milk. Savory taste.
The famous Nasi uduk restaurant is Nasi Uduk Gondangdia which is located at Cikini area. Nasi Uduk is wrapped with banana leaf. Another is Nasi uduk Kebon Kacang.

4. Laksa Betawi
Is spicy curry coconut milk soup served with vermicelli, chicken, and boiled egg. 
5. Kerak Telor
 Made from rice and egg, this is a typical snack from Jakarta . Equipped with herbs savory coconut makes this snack solid  
Options are available : the chicken egg or duck egg . 
Delicious eaten while warm .
Very filling because it is 
made of rice and eggs , blendof carbohydrates and protein 
And it's simple to be taken as a provision for as it can be 
rolled up and wrapped in 
paper .

6. Rujak Juhi

Is vegetable salad dish poured with Juhi (shredded salted cuttlefish). The salad itself contains of cucumber, lettuce, cabbages, noodles, fried tofu, fried boiled potatoes with peanut sauce dressing.



7. Asinan Betawi

Is pickled (through vinegared) fruit and vegetables added with peanut sauce. Asinan is the process of preserving the ingredients by soaking them in the solution of salty water. The taste is sweet and sour.

8. Es Doger
It’s a dessert.  Es doger is coconut milk-based shaved ice often given pinkish colour. The ice is added with coconut, avocado, tapai (cassava which has been fermented), and tapioca pearls.
 It will make freshness in the hot sunny day in Jakarta.

9.Es SelendangMayang

It’s also a dessert. It’s an old traditional dessert from Jakarta and it’s almost hard to find this dessert, but it’s available at the old city, Monas, and at some events which present the Jakarta culture.
Es selendang mayang contains syrup served with ice and some pieces of rice flour cakes. The syrup is made of coconut milk and brown sugar. The process of making the rice flour cake is just the same as making pudding, so it’s like pudding.  The rice flour cake is divided into 3 different colour parts , usually red, white, and green. The green colours are made from pandanus leaves.

10. Bir Pletok
The word “bir” comes from the word “beer”, but this beverage is absolutely alcohol free. This beverage is made from the bark of secang, cinnamon, lemongrass, and ginger.  You will feel warm after drinking bir pletok. Bir Pletok can be found at CafĂ© Batavia or at some events nuanced Betawi. It canbe drank hot or cold.

11. Dodol Betawi



Sweet and springy. It’s a combination of palm sugar, glutinous rice, and coconut milk .

12. Tape Uli
Unwrapped
Tape or Tapai is black glutinous rice that has been fermented. It tastes sweet and a bit alcohol because of the fermentation. The first photo shows tape that is wrapped in a plastic.

Uli is made of glutinous rice and grated coconut. In the first photo uli is wrapped in banana leaf.
Tape and uli are usually eaten together. It is a kind of snack.
